Police believe man has left the shore area; asking for public's help locating him

Police are looking for a man they say sexually abused a child and may have fled the shore area.

Wall Police are searching for Martin Luis, 36, who had a last known address on 6th Avenue in Neptune Township, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Luis is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot 5-inches, with brown eyes and short black hair, Pomphrey said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Luis on one count of second degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child. The crime was not random, Pomphrey said.

Bail is to be set upon arrest, he said.

Anyone with information about Luis or his whereabouts would aid the investigation is asked to contact Wall Police: (732) 449-4500; Detectives: (732) 449-4800, or the Wall Police Tips line: (732) 280-4288. All calls can remain confidential, Pomphrey said.
