Police: Howell Man Stole, Pawned $18K Ring from Fair Haven Shop
Michael Harrold was charged with fraud and theft by deception.

When a ring worth $18,000 was bought from a Fair Haven business with a bad check and turned up at local a pawn shop, a Howell man wound up in handcuffs.
Michael Harrold, 45, is facing charges of fraud and theft by deception.
Fair Haven Police Detective Stephen Schneider investigated the June 21 incident at a River Road business where it had been discovered that the ring was purchased with the bad check, police said.
After the ring was recovered at a Shrewsbury pawn shop, Michael Harrold, 45, was arrested and charged by Fair Haven police, according to Schneider.
Harrold was held at Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $25,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
