A 24-year old Middletown man is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after police say he was stabbed multiple times by his 23-year old roommate during an argument Tuesday afternoon.

Joseph Dickey of 83 Thousand Oaks Drive in Middletown was charged with first degree attempted murder and weapons offenses, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Charles Webster.

Police and first aid were summoned to the scene at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday. Dickey was arrested at the scene, according to Webster.

Dickey is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility on $512,500 bail, with no ten percent option set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Dennis R. O’Brien, J.S.C., Webster said.

The incident is being investigated by both the Prosecutor's Office and the Middletown Township Police.
