Pedestrian Struck Near Navesink River Road

Accident occurred Monday morning over the border in Middletown

A vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Route 35 and Navesink River Road, Middletown Emergency Medical Services Public Information Officer Bob Pfleger confirmed.

The incident occurred Monday shortly before noon.

A medevac helicopter was initially called for the pedestrian, but the extent of the injuries and whether the patient was ultimately transported via ambulance or medevac was not known.

Our best wishes go out to the pedestrian who was injured, and their family. Clearly our busy roads pose a hazard for residents and drivers alike. Sadly, Route 35 lacks a safe pedestrian route or alternative for much of its route.
