NWS Earle to Hold Drill Today
Security drill to be held at bases in Leonardo and Colts Neck
Naval Weapons Station Earle will be holding a security drill today.
The drill, according to a press release, will include local law enforcement and emergency management agencies.
The release said it is "designed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy Security Forces to respond to threats to the installation and assigned units."

While the drill is not in response to any threats, the press release said it is a "regularly-scheduled exercise."
The impact of the drills should be minimized, but drivers near the bases may see increased security and police presence during that time, the release noted.

The impacted areas include the Earle waterfront base on Route 36 in the Leonardo section of Middletown and the mainside base on Route 34 in Colts Neck, where traffic could be slowed.
People in the area should also not be surprised to see "security vehicle traffic" near the private Normandy Road, which spans from Leonardo to Colts Neck.
