Motorcylist Killed in Accident on West Front Street

The victim was transported to the hospital by helicopter, where he was later pronounced dead, police say.

A 69-year-old man was fatally injured during an accident Wednesday afternoon in just over the border of Red Bank in Middletown, according to Detective Lt. Steve Dollinger.

On Sept. 4 just after 3 p.m., Middletown police responded to an accident in the area of West Front Street and Harbor Green Circle. Early investigation shows that Robert Depalma, of Monroe, was driving a motorcycle on West Front Street toward Red Bank when he was hit by a car traveling in the opposite direction and turning left onto Harbor Green Circle, according to Dollinger.

The driver of the car was identified as Daniella Coccurello, 23, of Lincroft.

Depalma was flown by helicopter to Jersey Shore Medical Center and pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m., according to Dollinger.

No charges have been filed at this time.
