Monmouth County Fielded 112 Car Accident Calls in First Hours of Storm

The 9-1-1 Communications Center responded to numerous accident reports on Monday.

As heavy snow blanketed the region Monday, Monmouth County 9-1-1 Communications Center operators fielded dozens of car accident reports.

The Monmouth County Sheriff's Office said the call center received 112 calls between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday. The center, located in Freehold Township, handles emergency calls for 46 local jurisdictions in Monmouth.

A list of what towns the calls were fielded from was not immediately available, but Cynthia Scott, a spokesperson for the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, said they were concentrated on main roads.
