Man Indicted in Bed Bath & Beyond Stabbing

A Middletown man was indicted after he allegedly stabbed a woman inside Bed, Bath and Beyond, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said on Friday.

Tyrik S. Haynes, 19, of Middletown was charged with one count of first degree attempted murder, third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to the indictment.

Haynes is accused of attempting to murder a 29-year-old Keansburg woman, Gramiccioni said. He allegedly stabbed her multiple times with a knife inside the Bed, Bath and Beyond on Route 35 in Middletown on Jan. 17. Multiple calls reporting the incident were made to the Middletown Township police around 4:09 p.m.

Haynes is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold. His bail was set at $1,050,000.
