Hear That Noise? Fort Bragg Military Training

State Police say there were aware of, but did not perform exercises

Have you heard the noise in the air lately?

Fort Bragg is apparently the military installation responsible for the training exercises that have taken place over the last three days.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said on Thursday afternoon that they are aware of the training that took place in Long Branch Monday night and the Fort Monmouth area on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

"We are aware of it, but it was not the state police," Sgt. Polite said.

The borough of Tinton Falls had stated on its web site that the New Jersey State Police were performing the exercises, but Long Branch and Eatontown said they were performed by the military.

Sgt. Polite said the training exercises happen often, but not always around this area.

Fort Bragg is a United States Army installation located in North Carolina and is home to U.S. Army airborne forces, special forces, U.S. Army Forces Command and U.S. Army Reserve Command.

A call to the Fort Bragg public affairs department was not immediately returned on Thursday.
