Former Mater Dei Dean Jailed for Sexual Assault

William Miltner, 29, of Middletown, will serve time in state prison

Monmouth County Superior Court Judge John T. Mullaney sentenced William Miltner, 29, of Middletown, to four years in state prison months after he pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault of a student at Mater Dei Prep, where he taught and served as a dean.

Miltner, of Acker Drive, Middletown, was a former teacher and dean at Mater Dei, in the New Monmouth section of Middletown. The offenses on which the charges against Miltner were based occurred between March and September 2009, according to Miltner's indictment.

As part of his sentence, Miltner will be subject to parole supervision for life, as well as the sex offender registration and notification requirements of Megan’s Law. Miltner was also required to permanently give up his New Jersey teacher’s license as a condition of the negotiated plea in this case.
