Drug Charges for Pair Arrested in Fair Haven July 3

Fair Haven police discovered both men had warrants out for their arrest.

Two men were arrested in Fair Haven yesterday after being stopped for a traffic violation.

According to the Fair Haven Police Department, Patrolman Christian Hostrup stopped a car on Kemp Ave at approximately 12:42 a.m. on July 3. 

Police said 22-year-old Bruce Thompson II of Red Bank was driving the car. Thompson was found to have outstanding traffic warrants from various municipalities and a warrant for a violation for his probation. 32-year-old Todd Gundersen of Middletown was the passenger and was found to have outstanding traffic warrants from various municipalities and was also placed under arrest.

After further investigation, both men were charged with possession of heroin and a hypodermic syringe. Thompson was also charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and weapons. He was carrying a dagger and  stun-gun, said police.

Fair Haven Detective Dykstra was on the scene and helped with the investigation and arrest. Tinton Falls Police Department K-9 Unit assisted as well. Both men are being held in lieu of bail at the Monmouth County Correctional Institute.
