Crime Nearby: Area Woman Charged With Sexually Assaulting Child

Woman also charged with endangering welfare of child

An area woman has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Rachel Morrison, 26, of Warburton Place, Long Branch, allegedly sexually assaulted the Oceanport minor, whose name, age and relationship to Morrison are not being released, on April 29.

Morrison was arrested on April 30 and is facing two charges of sexual assault for commiting "an act of sexual penetration" and "touching" the victim, according to court documents.

Morrison is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

She was lodged in Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Morrison's initial court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8.
