Former Red Bank mayor charged with DWI after crash and man charged with murder in Long Branch

It's been a busy week for bad guys around Monmouth County this week. Topping the crime news is a Manchester man who was arrested and charged with murder in a mysterious Long Branch case and former Red Bank Mayor Ed McKenna, who was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a car collision.

Authorities arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with the murder of a Point Pleasant man in Long Branch, according to Charles Webster, spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO).

Several people were removed from a New Jersey Transit bus shortly after midnight Friday while authorities checked out a suspicious bag left in the cargo hold, police said.
