Christmas Chimney Fire in Rumson
Two firefighters were reported to have minor injuries.
A Christmas evening fire in Rumson was reported to be under control within an hour.
What was a chimney fire, that extended into the walls of a two-story home at 7 Briarwood Road, started at about 6 p.m., authorities reported.
There were reports that the two-alarm blaze was under control just before 7 p.m. but hot spots were being monitored. Several area fire companies responded.
Sea Bright Fire Department was on the scene and reported on its Facebook page (Sea Bright Fire Rescue) that two of its members "suffered minor injuries and were treated and released."
