Christian Hostrup is Fair Haven's Officer of the Year

Christian Hostrup is a with a passion for keeping the streets of Fair Haven safe, repelling drugs from the borough and now is the .

Hostrup was honored at the Borough of Fair Haven on Monday, January 23. Councilman Benjamin Lucarelli read a proclamation recognizing all of Hostrup’s efforts.

According to the proclamation, “Officer of the year is presented in recognition of a Fair Haven Police Officer who has demonstrated exceptional service to the Department, the residents of Fair Haven and those who travel through the ”

Hostrup was hired in January of 2008 and for the past couple of years, has led the department in Controlled Dangerous Substance and Driving While Intoxicated arrests and convictions.

During the proclamation, the borough recognized Hostrup’s eagerness to expand his knowledge of investigating, prosecuting and eliminating CDS from Fair Haven.

“He has attended courses in street crimes, methods of instruction, drug recognition training, identifying deceptive behavior and a DEA course in basic narcotic investigations,” said the proclamation. “He is looking to obtain the certifications for Drug Recognition Expert (an intensive and lengthy course of training)”

In addition to the proclamation, Police Chief Daryl Breckenridge also presented the officer with a plaque that pictured a police officer helping two young children.
