Area Man Arrested on Sex Assault Charge

Incident allegedly occurred in September.


A young area man has been arrested on sexual assault charges stemming from an alleged September incident.

Lanny R. McCall, 20, of Eatontown, was arrested by Red Bank police on Dec. 5 after a complaint was signed against him alleging that he committed an act of sexual assault by "knowingly committing an act of sexual penetration" on a 15-year-old on Maple Avenue in September, the complaint warrant said.

The victim was was more than four years older than McCall, the complaint added, violating state law. McCall allegedly confessed to the act, it said.

He was held in Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $100,000 bail, with no 10 percent option, by Judge Honora Kilgallen.

Upon release, McCall is restricted from any contact with the victim, the complaint said. His first appearance in court has been set for Dec. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
