What's Cookin'? Jaeger Olympian Meal

Olympic swimmer Conner Jaeger loves Tavolo's chicken parm

On the cusp of his swim of a lifetime, Fair Haven Olympic swimmer Connor Jaeger is in London and probably not thinking much about his favorite meal.

But, there are friends and fans back home who cannot help but wonder if he had his favorite things on Friday after he swam and qualified to swim for an Olympic  medal on Saturday afternoon.

As Jaeger's mom, Bernadette, told Patch, her son has always loved some "chicken parm and a side of nap" between meets. She also said that Fair Haven's Tavolo Pronto was her safe haven for everything from her son's favorite dish to a cup of coffee and good conversation.

Judging from the storefront displays and social media comments, the Tavolo staff could not be more proud of Connor Jaeger.

As an ode to the Olympian as he prepares to swim, his friends and fans back in Fair Haven are poised and ready to gather, once again, at the Knights of Columbus hall at 2 p.m., at the corner of Third Street and Fair Haven Road, to cheer him on to a medal.

Whether or not London has the equivalent of Tavolo's chicken parm or not is a question for Connor to answer when he gets home. In the meantime, will you eat Jaeger's favorite meal for lunch in honor of his swim tomorrow?

Chicken parm and a side of nap ... It's what's cookin' as Fair Haven's Olympic ode to Jaeger.

Gold or not, you're what's cookin' in your hometown, too, Connor Jaeger!
