Rumsonite, Successful Businessman Dies at 72

Rumson resident and area businessman Carl I. Koenigsberg died July 9 at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York City, at 72. 

Carl was born in New York City and lived in Manhattan and Rumson. Listed in Who's Who in Business, he was an importer and owned MNU, Inc., an agent for Wilder Imports in New York City, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Cake Bake and Roll at Pier Village in Long Branch. He was also a member of Chapel Beach Club in Sea Bright.

By all accounts, Carl was a true gentleman who was known to be well-read, well-spoken and a world traveler throughout Asia and Europe. A vet of the U.S. Army who served in Vietnam, he was also an avid Giants fan who loved the lyrics to My Way and was known to live his life his way.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Koenigsberg.

Surviving are: his wife, Nada; his children, Cara Marie Koenigsberg, Sheri and her husband, Brian Anselmo, and Gary and his wife Kattya Koenigsberg; his sister, Janet Lyman; three brothers, Paul, John and Cory Koenigsberg; three grandchildren, Jared Koenigsberg and Brendan and Sean Anselmo; and many nieces and nephews. He was also loved dearly by his extended Raffa/Daniele/Candela family in Italy.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 11 a.m. until his funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 12 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
