JLMC to bring Girls on the Run to Monmouth County

The Junior League of Monmouth County is pleased to announce its partnership with Girls on the Run.  The fall session will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30-5:45pm, Fair Haven Fields, from September 17-November 21st.  To register a girl, please fill-out and return the application.

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The program teaches life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The 10 week long program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event.

The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.  A GOTR 5k will be held on November 24 as the culminating event.  Spring programs are scheduled to begin in April and run till June of 2014.
