Support U.S. Military Working Dog Teams This Holiday

This holiday season Purr’n Pooch Pet Resorts in Wall Township at 2424 Rte 35 and Tinton Falls at 86 West Gilbert Street will be collecting donations for U.S. Military Working Dog Teams who have been deployed to the Middle East. Donated items will go to Operation Military Care K-9, a project run by the United States War Dogs Association. Items needed include K-9 products, food and snacks for the handlers, entertainment and toiletries. Visit www.purrnpooch.com for a complete list of items being collected through January 10, 2014.
 
The Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals will host a volunteer working day on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. at 86 West Gilbert Street in Tinton Falls, NJ. The general public and Foundation supporters are invited to write letters to the dog handlers and prepare their care packages for shipment. The Purr'n Pooch Foundation for Animals provides financial support and educational resources to non-profit, no-kill animal rescue groups and organizations from across the United States. Regardless of species served, the Foundation supports these deserving organizations that do so much with so little. Each year the organization awards grants to be used for day-to-day operations, emergency relief, spay/neuter efforts, veterinary care, equipment, construction, vehicle purchases, educational programs and special projects. Organizations supported in the past include, Mammal Stranding Center, Operation Kindness, Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, All FUR Love Animal Rescue, Monmouth County SPCA, Mid Atlantic Bull Dog Rescue, Special Needs K9, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, Project Animal Worldwide and St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
 
Eligible registered 501(c)(3) organizations that meet the Purr’n Pooch Foundation for Animals grant criteria are encouraged to submit a completed application. To apply for a grant, visit purrnpoochfoundation.org/grants.
