Holiday Gift Guide

More gift ideas from your local surf shop!  These gifts are specifically for kids looking to get into surfing.  I am so excited about the number of kids getting into surfing in our area.  When I opened this surf shop I always said that I just want to be able to share the sport that I love with the people in the community I grew up in.  Surfing has given me so much and I know how much of a positive influence it can have on your life.  Here are some items that can help get your kid started surfing.

Soft Top Surfboard

The soft top surfboards are the go to starter boards for kids.  They are safe, inexpensive, and easy to stand up on.  I saw a bunch of young kids doing so well on their soft top surfboards this summer.

Beater Board

I know I already put the Beater in the previous post, but the Beater is a great tool for getting your kids started early.  The Beater is an oversized body board with fins.  It is made for having fun which is the key to learning to surf.  Kids can take Beaters out on their own and they will have a blast.  You can stand up on them so you get the basics of surfing down.

Surfboard

Maybe your child has advanced past the soft top board, or maybe you want to go straight to a fiberglass surfboard.  Starting out on a fiberglass board will work just fine.  It might be a bit harder to get the hang of, but once you get the hang of it you will have a board that your child can grow into.  I still have my first surfboard 13 years later and I still ride it.

As long as you are having fun and have the right attitude, giving the gift of surfing is the best present you can receive.
