Words of a Fair Haven WWII, Korean War Vet: Honoring Country, Community

Ray Taylor has lived in Fair Haven all his life. He has loved and served the town as a resident the way he has loved and served his country as a soldier.

The 92-year-old veteran of World War II and the Korean War had a few things to say about both at Fair Haven Veterans Day ceremony Monday. He looked back on his wartime experience, honored his fellow veterans and made a plea to the children of Fair Haven to keep paying the love of country forward by starting with a love of community.

"... And all the children ... you're what it's all about," he said looking at the children from Sickles school who came to the ceremony. "This world won't live without them ... So do your best for our beautiful community ..."

Take a look at the video above for a glimpse into the day and to hear the special message from Fair Haven's oldest living vet, Ray Taylor.
