Throwback Thursday: RFH Class of '78 Speaks Up About Favorite Teachers

The students of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School's Class of '78 were known for being not only competitive, but outspoken — and fun, yes, fun.

They've always been known as a friendly bunch with no qualms about speaking their minds — and usually very diplomatically and analytically. Usually.

Well, the class had its 35th reunion over the summer; and, it was the perfect opportunity to get to the truth about how everyone felt about teachers. Each had his or her own favorite. But, despite the class' reputation, diplomacy took a vacation on this one — or at least a back seat to unfettered fun.

Anyone remember the teachers they mentioned in the above video? Some of the favorites were: geometry teacher Mr. Barry, Floyd DeNicola (who died last year at 92), English teacher Mrs. Bell (whose daughter was in the class, obviously), Spanish teacher Mrs. Lipton, art teacher Mrs. Parmly, and, oh, so many more.

Take a look. All in good fun, we thank those teachers who made that indelible impression on this crew of RFH teens turned candidates for AARP cards and bonus gifts. After all, this bunch is certainly smart enough to do that math.
