Honoring Rumson's Veterans

Don Blesse has lived in Rumson for 46 years. He raised his family there.

And he proudly represented veterans on Monday morning as part of Rumson's Veterans Day ceremony at Victory Park.

Blesse, who was planning on visiting his children soon, he told Patch, served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, from 1944 to 1946 and the Korean War from 1951 to 1952. "I was an aviation electricion served on aircraft carriers in the Atlantic," Blesse said.

The Blesse children all graduated from RFH. Thank you, Mr. Blesse and all of Rumson's vets.

If you have any photos of Monday's ceremony that you would like to add, please email them to elaine.develde@patch.com and we'll be happy to add them to the gallery.
