Open Days Program Garden Tour - Rumson/Spring Lake

The public is invited to explore two private gardens in
Rumson and Spring Lake, open to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations are required, and the event is rain or shine. Admission is $5 per garden; children 12 & under free. Visitors may begin at at either location: Furman Garden, 8 Woods End Road, Rumson, or Nelson Garden, 115 Passaic Avenue, Spring Lake. Highlights of the gardens include climbing roses and crabapple standards that enhance a columned pergola and seating area, a formal parterre garden with a stone dining set, hibiscus topiaries, container plantings of non-hardy exotics, and a G-gauge outdoor railroad track, with villages and characters depicting scenes from the 1930s and 40s.
