Lung Health: Saving Lives Through Early Detection
LUNG HEALTH: SAVING LIVES THROUGH EARLY DETECTION
Wednesday, September 18 at 1 p.m.
Effective screening tools such as mammography, PSA and colonoscopy have led to earlier diagnosis and higher survival rates for breast, prostate and colon cancers. This lung health program, co-sponsored by Social Community Activities Network (SCAN), will explore how low-dose CT scans can detect lung cancer in its earlier, most curable stage. Loki Skylizard, MD, Chief of Thoracic Surgery, Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Thoracic Surgery and Assistant Program Director for Surgery at Monmouth Medical Center, will discuss the relationship between research and survival and the advantages of a minimally invasive approach, including robotics, to thoracic surgery. This program will take place at Boscov’s third floor auditorium at Monmouth Mall, located at Routes 35 & 36 in Eatontown. Registration is required by calling 732-542-1326. Free.
