Classical Violinist Joel DeWitt with Kate Lukach at the Atlantic Highlands Library

The Atlantic Highlands Library proudly presents violinist Joel DeWitt and flutist Kate Lukach in recital on December 19, 2013 at 07:00 PM. DeWitt's program includes light classical music including Mozart along with some Christmas duets.

Violinist Joel DeWitt studied with Carroll Glenn at the Eastman School, and with Ivan Galamian at the Juilliard School. He received a fellowship with the Aspen Music Festival. He has performed as a freelance musician in New York; and as a member of Columbus Symphony, Virginia Opera Association, NJ New Philharmonic, and Metro Lyric Opera. He has given many recitals, and performs frequently at services for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County and at Unity by the Shore in Neptune. Mr. DeWitt is a trustee of the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council, and the violinist in the Corialis piano trio.

Kate Lukach is a classically trained flutist. She began her career at the Manhattan School of Music's Preparatory School where she studied with Harold Jones, a prominent New York flutist and recording artist. While at MSM, she was a member of the school's orchestra and chamber groups.

Kate graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington DC with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. She was a member of the University's Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Flute Choir and performed throughout the DC area, including the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Kate has studied with Marybeth Lewandowski and Thomas Perazzoli, both flutists with The National Symphony Orchestra, and Michael Parloff, principal flutist of the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. She continues to freelance and has performed recently with The Morris Choral Society in NJ and the Sinfonia Celestis Chamber Orchestra in Manhattan.
