Teen Charged with Beach Club Break-in, Resisting Arrest, Assault

The following information was obtained directly from Monmouth County complaint warrant records. It does not indicate a conviction.

A teen allegedly broke into a Sea Bright beach club, injured a police officer and threw objects at passing motorists on the Fourth of July, according to a complaint warrant signed by Sea Bright police.

Patrick C. O'Connell, of 32 Winding Way, Little Silver, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, trespassing and resisting arrest following the incident. He was held on $25,000 bail.

According to the warrant, the 18-year old entered Driftwood Beach Club, on Ocean Avenue, while trying to elude officers. O'Connell allegedly threw objects and yelled profanities at passing vehicles, creating a "hazardous condition," the complaint said. He also allegedly injured the forearm of one of the Sea Bright officers during the arrest, it added.
