Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued

Watch covers most of the local area

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of the state until 10 p.m.

The track of the storms and their potential damage is not yet known but the watch covers all of Monmouth and Ocean counties.

There is also a hazardous weather outlook for much of New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania through tonight. The outlook includes the potential for powerful thunderstorms that will come with a strong cold front crossing the area later today.
