Rumsonite's Car Lost in Elevator Shaft

NY Post reports story of loss of luxury vehicle

A Rumson man's luxury SUV was reportedly destroyed when a New York City parking attendant drove it into an elevator shaft Wednesday, a story in the NY Post said.

The Lexus RX350, owned by Frank Shanley, of Rumson, had been parked at a 76th Street garage, according to the Post story. Shanley, the story said, was expected to pick it up yesterday.

Before Shanley could do that, the car had been driven into a fifth-floor empty elevator shaft on Tuesday and landed upside down 40 feet below, according to the Post story.
