Energy and excitement filled the air as Yosi and the Superdads rocked the gazebo at for Rumson families this weekend.

Rumson’s Family Fun Night started this Sunday, July 10, 2011 in front of the park off of River Rd. on the Navesink.

“My kids really look forward to coming to the concerts and I love how it brings the community together,” said Kim Carey, a Rumson resident.

For the past three years, Yosi and the Superdads have kicked off the kid’s concert series in the gazebo and once again they didn’t disappoint.

Yosi and his band started at 7:00 p.m. sharp with “Funky Monkey”. Parents set up blankets, chairs and snacks as they watched their children let loose. The kids really enjoyed dancing and running laps around the gazebo.

Yosi and the Superdads is a super fun kiddie rock band from Island Heights, NJ. They perform over 450 children’s shows a year.

They are entertaining to both the children and the adults. The band knows how to rock the crowd; Yosi gets everyone involved by inviting the adults to dance with their kids and even letting some lucky children sing into the microphone.

The mood is always fun and the energy high at the Summer Series Concerts.

“It is another great program sponsored by Mayor Ekdahl and the Rumson Council,” John Hird, the Rumson Recreational director told the crowd after Yosi performed.

The concerts are certainly a great way to wrap up the weekend.

If you missed the first one there are three upcoming concerts:

  • July 24, 2011 Miss Sherri and the Animal Band
  • August 7, 2011 The Fuzzy Lemons
  • August 21, 2011 Little Rockers

Concerts start at 7:00 p.m.
