Why Haiti? The purpose of the race/walk is to raise funds and awareness for the children of Haiti who suffer the most due to the extremely poor conditions of the country.

"We are hoping to raise awareness of the plight of Haitian orphans, and support organizations that are working toward building a promising future in Haiti and giving hope to these children," the race's website asserts.
