The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional (R-FH) High School Tower Players will present Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida: School Edition, “a contemporary musical take on a grand classic tale” based on the Verdi opera on March 22, 23, and 24.
The story centers on Aida, a Nubian princess who becomes enslaved by Radames, an Egyptian soldier. A forbidden love blossoms between them, and their example of devotion eventually transcends the differences in their status and their warring nations and leads to a time of peace and prosperity.
The score features exciting production numbers and African tribal percussion on stage.
This production features a cast of many talented students, including: Clare Fitzgerald, as Aida, and Harrison Best as Radames; Julia Mosby, as Amneris, and Jack Newsome as Mereb.
The Tower Players promise to provide an exciting night of musical theater that should not be missed. Performances are Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m.
The final performance will be a matinee on Sunday, March 24, at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
The Box Office is located in the auditorium lobby and will be open 1½ hours prior to each performance.
