Paving on Seven Bridges Road Begins

The work will be done in evenings through May 14

If you're thinking of heading down Seven Bridges Road tonight or any other night through May 14, think again.

The road, which is a common thoroughfare for Rumson and Fair Haven area residents traveling toward Little Silver, Oceanport and Long Branch, will be closed overnight for about a week as Monmouth County road crews begin to pave.

The paving project work begins tonight at 6 p.m. and continues beginning 6 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. most weekdays until May 14, excluding Friday through Sunday nights.

Should it rain any night this week, the contractor will make up that night on Friday.

"Residents of Seven Bridges Road and roadways which have no other access (Pirates Cove, Pine Drive, Holly Drive and Holly Tree La, Paag Lane & Circle and the east leg of Point Rd) will have some access point to their homes," a message on the Little Silver borough web site said. "All other residents are urged to find alternate routes as they will not be allowed through the construction area."
