Call it a ghoulishly good day trip.
Ghosts, goblins and assorted spookiness is in store when the Historic Village at Allaire gears up for Halloween this weekend with its popular Haunted Hayride.
Tickets, priced at $15 for adults and $10 for children, are limited to 1,000 each night and it is recommended that you purchase tickets in advance because of the popularity of the attraction.
The hayride includes a trip through the Lost Cemetary and a darkened tour through the village where carpenters are known to measure visitors for coffins and the blacksmith is busy making coffin nails.
The ghost of Frances Allaire is said to wander during these nights.
Hayrides, which begin tonight and run again Saturday, depart every 15 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. with the last wagon leaving at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased by phone by calling the Village Office at 732-919-3500.
