It was a blustery winter's day on the banks of the Navesink in Rumson.
The weather was dank, but it didn't deter flocks of sea gulls and ducks that were drawn to the beach at Victory Park in search of food and, perhaps, a little friendship.
Seemingly impervious to the elements, which were briskly biting, the ducks swam in a puddle of water on the roadside left over from the storm on Wednesday night. Sea gulls circled atop and dove in when anything resembling a crumb hit the pavement.
They seemed to enjoy a little leftover Chinese take-out. No, it wasn't Peking duck.
