9/11 Remembrance Events Happening Around Rumson and Fair Haven This Weekend

There are many ways to remember those lost the tragedy of September 11 as we come up on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks this weekend.

The 10th anniversary of the September 11 is this weekend and there are many ways to remember those lost on that tragic day. Here is a list of rememberance events happening around Rumson and Fair Haven this weekend:

 


What: Fair Haven will be holding a low-key remembrance ceremony for the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. on Sunday, September 11th in Memorial Park located on River Rd. across street from Borough Hall. There will also be a dedication of the new street signs on Hance Rd. which was re-named
When: Sunday, September 11 @ 8:30 a.m.
Where: 748 River Road, Fair Haven, NJ

What: The KDM Foundation helped contribute funds to build a brand new playground at the Dean Porter School in Rumson. The playground is going to be dedicated to Keith McHeffy, a resident who lost his life during the Sept. 11 attacks. A dedication ceremony is planned for Sunday, the 10thanniversary of 9/11, at the playground. A plaque honoring McHeffey will be unveiled then.

What: Congregation B’nai Israel will be hosting a short service to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11.  Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. Led by Rabbi Jeff Sultar and Cantor Marla Barugel, the service will include memorial prayers and songs.
When: Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 12:45 pm
