A round-up of useful information and events happening around Rumson and Fair Haven today.

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Clouds and Showers: According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 74 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. There will be an east wind around 8 mph. Tonight, the showers continue with cloudy skies and a low around 64 degrees. There will be an east wind between 7 and 10 mph.

2. Eagle Scout Pride: Karr Thomas Mullen reached the highest level in Boy Scouts of America and was recognized as an Eagle Scout at the Fair Haven Council meeting on September 26, 2011. Click to read about his acomplishment and see photos from the meeting.

3. Bulldogs Beat the Bucs: This year the battle took place at Red Bank Regional High School on Ridge Road in Little Silver, the RBR Bucs home field. For the second week in a row, the RFH varsity football team has refused to allow their opponents to score.  In the meantime, the RFH offense has put on a mighty display of talent and weapons and scored at will to take the treasured Battle of Ridge Road Trophy. 4. Run for the Fallen: The Run for the Fallen passed through Rumson this weekend. Teams of active and reserve military (in running gear) made the 152 mile journey from Cape May to Holmdel to honor New Jersey service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Every mile of the trek the runners stopped to present a flag and personalized biographical card to family and friends of a fallen soldier. Click to see photos of particpants.
