5 Things You Need to Know Today: Sept. 22

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Rain, Rain, Go Away: According to the National Weather Service, today will be cloudy with a high near 72 degrees with showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. There will be a south wind between 5 and 8 mph. Tonight, the rain and storms continue with cloudy skies and a low around 67 degrees. There will be a southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph.

2. Get Fit in the Park: Outdoor Fit is offering their Fitness in the Park work out sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September and October. Each session includes circuits of resistance, strength and cardiovascular exercises, and is appropriate and effective for any age or fitness level. 3. Mama Ain't Cookin' Tonight: It is New Jersey Restaurant Week, so put down those skillets and head out for a great dinner or lunch on the cheap! From September 18-25 you can get fulti-course dinners for less than $35 and lunches for $19 or less at certain restaurants. Click for more information and to see who is participating locally.

4. Enjoying Autumn's Best: David Burke's has also teamed up with Sickles Market for a special 4-course "Harvest Menu" this fall. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, enjoy a delicious meal featuring all of yummy things Sickles has to offer. Reservations are reccomended as seating and availability are limited to the produce on-hand each week. When the harvest is done, so are these special dinners. 5. Celebrating a Local Hero: Lt. William Heath, who retired recently after 25 years of service at the Fair Haven Police Department, is someone coworkers say goes beyond the call of duty. A party for Lt. Heath is planned for tonight at the Nauvoo Grill Club starting at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $65 per person. Click to read more about Heath and his service to the community.
