Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Showers Likely: Grab an umbrella as you run out the door. Showers are likely this afternoon into the evening. According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 73 degrees. 2. 25 Years of Service:  Lt. William Heath, who retired recently after 25 years of service at the Fair Haven Police Department, is someone coworkers say goes beyond the call of duty. Heath has devoted countless hours of his free time to the children of Fair Haven, volunteering for the fire department and the first aid squad. Come January, his new position will be the chief of the fire department, another volunteer position. A party for Lt. Heath is planned for Sept. 22 at the Nauvoo Grill Club.
