1. Feeling Fall Fresh: National Weather Service today will be a beautifu fall, sunny day with a high near 65 degrees. There will be a northwest wind between 8 and 13 mph. Tonight will be clear with a low around 50 degrees and a northwest wind between 6 and 8 mph.

2. Hot Rides: Children in Fair Haven had the opportunity to play with something bigger then your average hot wheel this past weekend. The Newcomers’ Club of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Shrewsbury raised more than $2200 at its 4th Annual Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser held on Saturday, October 1st at the to benefit The Kortney Rose Foundation for pediatric brain tumor research. 3. Out of the Dark: The Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk will take place Jersey Shore this weekend. The awareness event will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Sea Girt National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, New Jersey. This area’s Jersey Shore Walk, the first ever, has been organized in memory of Stephanie Fritz, a Tinton Falls resident who died in 2003. Click to read more about Stephanie and this event.

4. Bang for Your Buck: The county is running a program where you can turn in your firearms, no questions asked, and receive cash. On Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can drop off your unwanted guns. Police warn that weapons should be transported in a safe box, not concealed on your person.
