5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 10

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Gloomy and Damp:  According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 60 degrees with a north wind between 5 and 11 mph. There is a chance of rain or drizzle througout the day and patchy dense fog before 10am. Tonight, the showers continue with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 40 with a west wind between 14 and 18 mph.

2. Brightening the Bright: When driving down Route 36 in Sea Bright, things seem a bit brighter. The bus stop in front of the parking lot got an extreme make-over. The formerly drab grey hut is now painted to look like a beach home as colorful and bright as the people who live in the borough. 3. Go Dawgs! On a sunny crisp Saturday, fans dressed in purple, black, and white and headed south on Ocean Avenue to Asbury Park High School to root the Dawgs on to victory against the Blue Bishops. The final score was 28-6 bringing their season to 8-0 and giving them the number one seed for the Central Jersey Group 2 playoffs. Click to read more about the game and the team.

4. Whiz Kid: Eighth grader Kyra Citron delivered boxes filled with children's books to Bridge of Books' Red Bank storage facility and presented a check for $5,000 through the Charles Lafitte Foundation. She used her Bat Mitzvah to raise the money and the books. Click to read her story.
