5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 20

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. More Showers and Clouds: According to the National Weather Service, today offers a chance of showers before 11:00 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11:00 a.m. and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5:00 p.m. Patchy fog before 8:00 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 70 degrees. Friday night, the showers continue with a low around 57 degrees. Be sure to have you rain coat handy all day and night.

2.  Big Stretch: Fair Haven EMS are the proud owners of two new Stryker Ambulance stretchers. The bright yellow cots have hydraulic lifts in the legs making the transition into and out of the ambulance much easier and smoother. 3.  Playing B-Ball: The basketball courts at Victory Park are a great resource for residents, but the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School basketball coach says we need an upgrade. At a Rumson Recreation meeting  at Borough Hall, committee members discussed the possibility of resurfacing Victory Park basketball courts with a new synthetic material. 4. Summa Time: With summer soon approaching and the school year coming to a close, Rumson Borough children will have the opportunity to celebrate summer through multiple recreational camps and clinics that are slated to begin in the upcoming weeks. Rumson Recreation Committee met May 18 at Borough Hall to reveal its plans for the next few months and two new recreational camps planned to begin this summer.
