5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 3rd

A round-up of information and events happening today around Rumson and Fair Haven.

Here is a list of information and events happening around Rumson and Fair Haven today:

1. Bulldog Pride: The Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School Boys Basketball Team is moving on to the semifinals of the NJSIAA tournament. Last night they played Carteret at home and beat them in an exciting game with a final score of 68-52. Kevin Alter scored a game-high 23 points in the quarterfinals of the Central Jersey, Group 2 tournament. They will play Ewing High School tomorrow night.

2. Lady 'Dawgs: The Lady 'Dawgs had a great night, also! The Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School Girls Basketball Teams dominated Johnson High School with a final score of 63-37.  Nicole Isaacs scored 15 points, Ashley Cooper added 12, Stephanie Isaacs netted 11 and Ellie Wilbur scored 10 for Rumson. Their home win pushed them into the semifinals of the NJSIAA tournament. They will play Gov. Livingston High School tomorrow night.

3.  Knollwood School Blood Drive: The Student Council is hosting a Central Jersey Blood Drive is today. It will take place in the Knollwood School All Purpose room from 2:30-6:30. To make an appointment to donate blood and for more information, you can call Judy Miller, the school nurse, at 732-747-2257.

4. Shooting Darts in Memory of Firman and Friend: Family, friends and firemen crowded Murray MacGreggor's Publik House on Feb. 26 for the 5th Annual Brian D. Boyer Memorial Dart Tournament. 16 teams of 3 competed in the "best of the worst" darts tournament. The event started at 11:00 a.m. and went well into the evening.
