5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 27

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Beautiful Summer Day:  According to the National Weather Service, today will be a beautiful summer day with sunny skies and a high near 80 degrees. There will be a north wind between 6 and 10 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a nice cool low around 67 degrees and a South wind between 3 and 10 mph. 

2. Skating on Water: SkimBash 2011 took place this weekend featuring both amateur and professional skim boarders from across the country. Over 500 people came out to the event to watch and see all the action. The weather was beautiful and the waves were nice for the boarders. Check back on the site this after noon to see a video of highlights from the event.

3. Future Film Makers: Two Rumson children went to the premiere of a short film that they helped create. On Saturday, June 25 in the Pier Village Community Center, they joined the Purr'n Pooch Foundation, Small Factory Productions and dozens of families to celebrate the premiere of "Tails of Love". 4. Summer Lovin': School is out and summer is in session.
