A round-up of useful information and events happening around Rumson and Fair Haven today.

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Clouds and Showers: According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy with a high near 79 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2:00 p.m. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 67 degrees. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2:00 a.m.

3. America's Top Schools: Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School was named one of the Best American High Schools according to a study by Newsweek Magazine. Newsweek has been ranking schools for the past 10 years. The rankings are supposed to give a measure of success in challenging and preparing students for college and for life. This year, they changed their methodology for scoring each high school. 4. Butterfly Guy: Head over to Oceanic Library in Rumson this afternoon to kick-off the Summer Reading Program with author and naturalist Rick Mikula. Rick will bring live butterflies and  show how to attract  butterflies to your own garden. Everyone is invited and the event is free. Click for more information.

5. Movies at the Fields: Shore Flicks is an outdoor movie company bringing family fun to Monmouth and Ocean Counties and all of New Jersey. They use 16' and 40' Inflatable Screens with top-notch projection and sound systems to entertain anywhere from 30 to 3,000 people. Tonight at 9:00 p.m. they will be playing "Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels" at Fair Haven Fields. This event is open to all and is FREE! They will be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit local food banks and pantries, including Lunch Break, RAINE, and the Food Bank of Monmouth & Ocean Counties.
