1. Holy Heat: According to the National Weather Service, widespread haze is expected this afternoon with sunny skies and a high near 95 degrees. Heat index values will reach as high as 105. There will be a west wind around 10 mph. Tonight, there will be patchy fog after 3:00 a.m. Otherwise, the skies will be mostly clear with a low around 76 degrees and a west wind calming down a bit between 3 and 8 mph.

3. Shooting Hoops: Basketball players of all ages will hit the courts to raise money for children suffering from learning disabilities and/or depression. Today is the start of the 2nd Annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at Holy Cross School in Rumson hosted by the Jay Dooley Foundation. There is a minimum of 3 players to enter the tournament and the cost is $150. Click for more information.

5. Welcome Home: Tonight, family, neighbors and friends will gather at Blackpoint horseshoe at 6:30 p.m. to welcome home Marine Sean R. MacDonald from his tour in Afghanistan. There will be big crowds and a police escort for this surprise homecoming celebration.
