5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 1

1. It's a Beautiful Day: According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 82 degrees. A great start to the 4th of July weekend. Tonight will be a beautiful night to start that grill up with mostly clear skies and a low around 65 degrees. West wind between 5 and 9 mph. 

2. Let the Grillin' Begin: Fourth of July weekend is around the corner, conjuring up the sound of fireworks and the smell of barbecue. 3. Borough History: As we celebrate an anniversary of our country, many locals prepare to celebrate an anniversary of their borough. Fair Haven residents have the opportunity to place their name on a piece of history. The Historical Association of Fair Haven, Inc, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote the history and preservation of Fair Haven, is raising money by creating a quilt to be hung in Bicentennial Hall, which will include the names of all of the families who donate towards the hall’s restoration. 4. Baby, You're a Firework: Fourth of July means fireworks, and there are plenty to see around the R-FH area. On Sunday, July 3, you can catch the . Prime seating is in Victory Park or on the Oceanic Bridge. While watching that show, you can also check out the KaBoom Festival Show which will be synchronized with those over our end of the Navesink. On Monday, July 4, head over the bridge to Sea Bright to see the fireworks pop right over your head while your toes are in the sand on the beach.
