5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 2

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. TGIF: According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 54 degrees and a Calm wind becoming west between 8 and 11 mph. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 38 degrees and a north wind between 11 and 13 mph.

2. Holly Holidays: Tis the season to talk about hollies. The Rumson Garden Club and the Rumson Shade Tree Commission are co-hosting a lecture by Bruce Crawford on Native American and British species of hollies on Friday, December 2nd at 4 pm. Click for more information.

3. Get Some Wings: Kick off the Holiday season with the Tower Players as they present It’s a Wonderful Life, an adaptation of Frank Capra’s classic holiday movie. It will be presented on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd at 7:30 pm.  On Sunday, December 4th the final performance will be a matinee at 1:00 pm. 4. Shop for a Cause: Four students have created an event allows holiday shoppers to purchase gifts locally and raise money for a great cause. Local businesses in Fair Haven will donate a portion of their sales on Saturday, December 10 and/or give monetary donations to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch. Click to learn more.

5. Ho, Ho, Touchdown! Santa and State Championships are what RFH-ers are in for this weekend. On Saturday, Santa will make an apperance in Fair Haven at 5:00 p.m. in Memorial Park. At 7:00, the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Bulldogs will take on Matawan in the football Group II State Championship at Rutgers University.
