5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 1

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Beautiful Day: According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 51 degrees and a north wind between 10 and 15 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 40 degrees and a north wind between 5 and 7 mph.

2. Powder Puffs: While most Bulldog fans are foaming at the mouth waiting for the State Championship this Saturday night, there is a special way they can cool their football fever ahead of time. Tonight is the annual Powder Puff games starting at 6:00 p.m. at the high school field. All proceeds will benefit Lin’s Linens and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Click for more details.

United: On the first of December, World AIDS Day is celebrated.  This day is an opportunity for people to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS, to remember those who have died of the disease and to celebrate accomplishments, such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
